The PVD coating production line installed at Sulzer Metco Surface Technology Shanghai Co., Ltd. started production in August.
Sulzer Metco provides its excellence in thermal spray, heat treatment and PVD technology to industrial markets such as aerospace, power generation, automotive, mechanical engineering, tooling and others. With the operation of PVD production line, Sulzer Metco is now able to provide a wide range of PVD coating solutions to protect surfaces against wear and chemical interaction in addition to the capabilities in heat treatment and synchronizer ring coating. For plastic processing, injection moulding and sheet metal forming coatings like TiN, CrN and CrNmod protect the parts against wear and avoid catalytic decomposition, reduce cold welding and sticking. The high-performance nano-structured AlTiN-Saturn coating represents an all-rounder for a wide range of innovative cutting applications. AlTiNmod has been developed especially for hard machining (HRC > 60) and for special applications like the machining of Cu composite materials. Its improved hardness is significant for this PVD coating. The combined use of plasmanitriding and PVD coating with hard materials is an effective means of containing abrasion, cold welding, corrosion and deposits when processing plastic and elastomer materials. |
