In the field of thermal spraying, materials in the form of powders and wires are used to create surface coatings. The powder/wire is supplied to the spray gun by a feeder to maintain a constant supply of material over long periods of time. Two types of powder feeders with specific feeding characteristics are offered – the fluidisation of the powder in the hopper and the displacement of powder from the hopper on to a rotating disk. Wire control units are designed to hold standard wire coil, straighten it as it uncoils and feed it to the gun under controlled tension.
